Classes**We keep our classes small and many do fill quickly. Call (614) 267-3011 or come in to register. Payment is necessary to secure your place.**
*** Class Cancellation Policy: Two weeks notice to receive full refund. Under two weeks you will receive store credit. Students who cancel a week or less prior to the scheduled class will have class credit with their specific teacher. Thanks for your understanding. Kids Classes Kids Sewing Camp with Michelle Thomas Ages 8+. This is a new class that would be great for kids. I will offer 3 projects and they can do any or all of them. Drawstring bag, headbands and pincushions. I will come up with a combined supply list for all of these and they can pick and choose. Intro is not required. 2 Classes. Wed, June 26 & Thurs, June 27, 6-8pm or Sun, July 21 & July 28, noon-2pm. Cost $48  *New Little Wallet Class with Pat Wax Ages 10+. Make this cute wallet to carry your school IDs, gift cards, and cash for your next shopping trip, vacation, trip to the pool, or everyday use. It finishes to 4 ¾” x 3 3/8”, so it can easily slip into a pocket, or add a small strap to carry in your hand. Cost $48.   **Call the shoppe for more info on kids classes Beginner Classes Intro to Machine Sewing with Michelle Thomas This class is for a true beginner who wants to learn the basic operation of their machine. We will review some basic sewing terminology, wind a bobbin, thread the machine and construct a simple wallet. You will come away with an understanding of your machine operation, how to use seam allowance guides, how to use fusible interfacing and various other tips so you can feel confident to try projects on your own. 1 Class. Cost $35.  The Staple Dress Class with Rachel H of Family Ever After (www.familyeverafterblog.com) Learn to make the Staple Dress pattern by April Rhodes! A simple yet flattering cut, this dress has a lot of ease through the bust and hip with elastic shirring at the waist to cinch it in. The gathering can be customized to the wearers preference. Plus choose between two hem lines, a drop hem style or a classic straight hem. Cut alone or belted, with flats, boots or heels.. It's an all-year-round wardrobe essential. 2 classes. Tues, June 4 & 11, 6-9pm. $70. *New Simple Beginner’s Quilt with Amanda Learn the basics of quilting while you make an adorable baby or lap quilt with Amanda. Some of the things that will be covered are cutting, piecing, making a quilt sandwich, machine quilting, and double fold binding. The finished quilt will measure approximately 35x35 in. 2 Classes. Sat, June 20 & Sat, Aug. 3 from 9-noon. Cost $60.  Pillow Case Dress with Michelle Thomas This style dress was made originally from old pillowcases but we use fun cotton fabric to make this cute and simple dress or top. In this class you will learn French seams and bias tape application. Pattern is provided to make sizes 12 months up to girls size 8. 1 Class. Wed, July 17, 6:30-8:30pm. Cost $35.  Simple Elastic Waist Skirt with Emily Just in time for warm weather! This elastic waist skirt is perfect for the youngest beginning sewers. We will learn taking measurements, how to apply them to the skirt, using elastic, and hemming. 1 Class. Sun, May 19, 6-8:30pm or Sun, May 26, 2-4:30pm or Sun, June 2, 6-8:30pm or Sun, July 7, 6-8:30pm or Sun, Aug 4, 6-8:30pm. Cost $30  *New Flouncy Full Apron with Michelle In this class you will learn basic pattern layout and construction and make a reversible full apron with ties at the waist and neck. You can use the fabric you choose for the body of the apron as your ties or you can use bias tape if you like. You choose an adult or kid sized apron and the pattern will be provided in class. 1 Class. Thursday, May 30, 6-8:30pm. Cost $35   Kids Apron Adult Apron Beginner's Baby Coin Quilt with Mary Dugan This class is specifically for making the Baby Coin Quilt. A great class for beginners to quilting. You will learn correct cutting, sewing with a quarter inch seam allowance, pressing techniques, machine and hand quilting, and binding. 5 Classes. Mondays, July 1, 15, 22 & August 5 & 19 from 6-8pm. Cost $80.  *New Ruched Throw Pillow with Pat Wax In this class, you will create a Ruched Throw Pillow to update your living space and add a new dimension to your sofa, chair, cushion, or bed. Select your fabrics for the look you want - using one fabric, using two coordinating fabrics, or using a fabric and coordinating trim to get the look you want. The possibilities are endless, and FUN! 1 Class. Tues, July 2, 6-8:30pm. Cost $30.  Beginner’s Pillow Class with Michelle Thomas Join us in a beginner pillow class and learn a standard pillow with zipper and an envelope style pillow with cording. You will choose which style you will be making in class and instruction will be provided on both so you can try the other one at home. You can choose your pillow dimensions. 1 Class. Sun, June 30, 9-noon or Wed, July 24, 6-9pm or Sun, Aug 25, 10am- 1pm. Cost $36.  *New Ruffled Knapsack with Michelle Thomas In this class you will learn tips on how to gather to make cute ruffles. The bag has a drawstring closure and grommets at the bottom and can be worn like a backpack. A great bag for beginners! 1 Class. Sat, July 13, 9-11:30am. Cost $30  Reversible Tote Bag Class with Emily Ages 8+. This class is perfect for kids with some machine sewing experience or even adults who would like to learn how to make this stylish beginner's tote. The tote is made from three coordinating fabrics, has a pocket, and is reversible! 1 Class. Sun, May 19, 2-4:30pm or Sun, July 14, 2-4pm. Cost $30  Sewing With Patterns with Emily An introductory class for beginning students who would like to use sewing patterns. We will learn pattern terminology, layout, and fabric cutting basics for a pattern of your choice. 1 Class. Sun, May 26, 6-8:30pm or Sun, July 14, 6-8:30pm or Sun, Aug 11, 6-8:30pm. Cost $30.  Beginning Hand Sewing Techniques with April Rhodes In this relaxing class you will learn several basic embroidery stitches, hand appliqué and hand finishing techniques and you'll take home a little sampler to remind you of all your stitches. 1 Class. Sat, June 1, 12:30-3:00pm. Cost $30.  Napkins and Placemats with Michelle Thomas A beginners class where we will make a napkin and placemat set using a mitered corner technique. We will also learn how to use the edge stitch foot or rolled edge foot if you have them (optional). A fun class that will dress up your holiday table! 1 Class. Wed, June 12, 6-8pm. Cost $30.  The Classic Swing Tote with Pat Wax This reversible shoulder bag is the perfect tote to accompany you on a day- or weekend trip, a day at the beach, or a general run-around day. Create the tote with your two favorite fabrics – TWO looks with one tote. Use one side, then just turn it inside-out for a totally different look!!! Students will learn to use fusible interfacing, sew along curves, add self-lined pockets, and apply a magnetic snap when completing this simple but lovable tote. 2 Classes. June 18 & 25, 6-8pm. Cost $60.  Advanced Beginner Classes Barcelona Skirt with Pat Wax A Sew To Speak favorite. This Amy Butler skirt has a back invisible zipper and a lining. Make it layered or as a trimmed A-line skirt. Very flattering. Perfect class to take after your beginner's sewing. 2 Classes. Tues, July 9 & 16, 6-8pm. Cost $60.  Reversible Laptop Tote or Messenger Bag with Pat Wax In this class you can make either a messenger bag or laptop tote. The laptop tote is completely reversible – two entirely different looks in one tote! Have a fall/winter look on one side, and a spring/summer fabric on the reverse side. Features interchangeable pockets for your folders and papers. The messenger bag is simple, cute and functional, featuring inner pockets. Patterns provided. 2 Classes. Tues, August 13 & 20, 6-8pm. Cost $60.  Feather Bed Quilt with Mary Dugan Make your own Feather Bed Quilt from Anna Maria Horner’s pattern. You choose the size you would like to make! The sample in the shoppe is the Baby Quilt – consisting of 11 feathers. Stop by to see the sample! 5 Classes. Fridays, May 31, June 7, 14, 21 & July 12, 6-8pm. Cost $80  Intermediate Classes Meadow Spirit Skirt with Pat Wax Combine a few of your favorite spring fabrics to create this Joel Dewberry skirt. This flattering A-line shape combines a slimming waistline with pleated trim for a classic spring look. Learn about pattern layout, zipper placement, adding pleats, and skirt construction. 2 Classes. Tues, May 21 & 28, 6-8pm. Cost $60.  *New Pickle-Dish Quilt with Mary Dugan Pickle-dish is a traditional pattern. The graphic nature of the design lends itself to modern fabrics and makes for an amazing quilt! This class is for those who have completed several quilts and are up for the challenge. We will use a variety of techniques including needle turn appliqué. For this class you will complete the quilt top. 6 Classes. Mondays, May 20th, June 10th, June 17th, July 8th, July 29th, August 12th, 6-8pm. Cost $90.  |
